Looping Sketch #1 Black Ants and Buddhists Reflection

Why aren’t there more bilingual programs offered in the public education system? We live in a really diverse country and the public education system should reflect and accept all the different kind of families that live in the country now days. Children are capable of doing unbelievably amazing things, so we as teachers should encourage them and accept every part of who they are. According to the article, Black Ants and Buddhists, the teacher aims to teach in a social justice classroom, so that the classroom is always a place where students can be themselves and respect each other (Cowhey, 2006). I will try my best to have a culturally sensitive classroom environment, because I also want to implement social justice in my classroom and ensure that the students participate and all feel like they have the same opportunity to grow academically and education wise. Teaching is not an easy job and it takes a big heart, so we should not ask others how to teach, but think about our students’ needs and what is best for them
